If you have time and would like to see the Inside Passage, a ferry ride up from Bellingham, Washington or Prince Rupert, Canada to Juneau is always a pleasurable experience.  You will stop at many little towns along the way and will have time to get off and explore the surrounding areas near the docks.  Ask about rooms or roomettes when you inquire.  For schedules and for more information look up Alaska Marine Highway on the web or call 1-800-642-0066.  From Juneau, you can take another ferry to Yakutat if the time is right or hop on Alaska Airlines for a short ride to your destination.
